You could (should) do this with a database back end. The HID card reader will spit out the full 26 or 37 bit number associated with the card. You can probably discard or parse out the facility code. Once you have the card number just write that to a (ms access) database with the time stamp and a direction of travel (in/out). Then from within access link the card number with an employee name. From there all you need to do is write reports merging the scan information with the employee data table.The unknown thing is how will you get the HID reader to connect to the PC.

Why not just pull the scan logs from that database? Then you won't have to do anything by write reports against the existing card scans. This is possible if you have a little vb scripting skills. Once you get the info into an access database then you can create the reports.Understand this is not a easy / hard project. It will take a little googling to find code samples of what you want to do then glue the samples together to make a working product.
