For more details see this post:.I have documented below how we perform seva at my place. This is how I have been doing seva, my Mom, my Sister, My Grandmother and other relatives perform seva. The rituals you follow may be different. So, follow this only if you wish. If you disagree with any of the rituals, better consult a priest or contact the Mutt and find out.

I have documented it as a Q&A.Q. 1: When to perform Seva?A.1: Perform seva on days you know you will be able to devote the days you wish to perform seva. At any cost, the number of days should not be changed once you start the seva.Q.2: How many days to perform Seva?A. 2: Odd number of days. 1,3,5, 7 and so on.Q.3: What to do if something happens while performing the seva?A.3: For example, if someone dies, or some other untoward incident happens for which there is a Mailige( not sure what it is called in English) than you stop the seva immediately.Q.4: Do we always have to keep a coconut?A.4: Yes, if you are doing the seva for a specific reason, you have to keep a coconut when you do sankalpa.Q.5: Do I completely fast while doing Seva?A.5: You can eat just 1 lunch.
No breakfast, no dinner. Maybe some milk and fruits in the night.Q.6: Can I work during seva?A.6: Yes, you can continue working while doing seva. However, no traveling.Q.7: Should I take head bath everyday?A.7: Yes, one should take head bath everyday.Q.8 What clothes can be worn?A.8: While performing seva for Rayaru, clothes which are washed and dried separately are supposed to be worn.Q.9: What Pooje do I perform?A.9: First, perform daily pooje for God. Next, perform pooje to Rayaru. Offer Coconut, Fruits, flowers, light lamps, perform aarathi. Recite Rayara Ashtotra, and many more lyrics posted on this blog.Q.10.
Do we perform pooje in the evening also? Should I take shower in the evening also?A.10.
Yes, we perform pooje in the evening also. Many say women shouldn’t shower in the evening. However, since we would have touched so many other people during the day, and at work, we used to shower ( no head bath) in the evening also.Q.11: How do we decorate the pooja room?A.11: As you would decorate for any other pooja. Place a coconut on the right side, and don’t touch it until you finish the seva.Q.12: What flowers to offer?A.12: We all know our beloved Rayaru loves Roses, so offer Roses. If not available, Jasmine is also fine.Q.13: What to eat?A.13: Food with no onion and garlic is eaten.
Like I said, just lunch. No dinner, no breakfast. No store brought food. All food should be cooked fresh everyday.Q.14: What to do with the coconut?A.15: The day you finish the seva, break the coconut and share it with all your family members.Q.15: Do we get a dream after the Seva?A.15: If your bhakthi and devotion has reached our beloved Rayaru, he will definitely come in your dream as himself, or someone else and bless you. In many cases in our relatives we have had dream where an old priest gave us a purna phala, which is coconut, phala mantrakshate, flowers and so on.A few in my family has never had a dream. So, don’t get disappointed if you don’t get any dream.Q.16: Other than work, and pooje what else do I do?A.16: Most time during the seva is spent chanting Rayaru’s name and reading devotional books. No watching TV, no movies, no extra curricular activities.Q.17: Where to sleep?A.17: No sleeping on mattress.
Sleep on a chape. Remember, you are trying to give your utmost devotion & Bhakti. There are many who complain about the rituals, just remember we are doing this since we want. I did Sankalpa seva to Rayaru 6 times now and but things remain unchanged. Previously Rayaru had fulfilled my desires many times after I did Sankalpa seva, but in this case I am still not finding an answerPlease advise if there is any other Seva I can perform. And also why Rayaru is delaying in blessing me in this court cases. I have not done any mistake.Please help me to do a good Seva to Rayaru and explain its Vidhana please. Recently (since October 2019) I went twice to Mantralaya and did Rayaru Seva for 3 days with full devotion and madi.
First I did in October month. After reaching home, that night, I got a dream as if Rayaru Brindavana is following me and my hand was held tight. Subsequent to this, one of the nights, I got a dream as if I am preparing to to Mantralaya again along with my mom and performing seva. So, based on these two dreams, I again went to Mantralaya in December and did 3 days seva.
From then on, every night (almost) some thing happens to me in my sleep and I wake up with full of anxiety and end up feeling that I have lost some thing and I have missed something in seva and I have not done it properly.What does it mean? I dont know what to do further. Please help me and advise if this is a bad omen. Is Rayaru unhappy with me for something.So now, I started doing pooja every Thursdays at home itself. I got a feeling that I have completed my seva. This was like some conversation between me and another (I dont know who it is and what it is and who is talking to me in my ears). I am not able to see anybody in my dream.
But, the conversation ended saying that my seva is over and the other (who so ever its) acknowledges it.After this incident, I am not getting any disturbances in my sleep.I am concluding that Rayaru has accepted my seva finally. I have been a devotee of sri guru Raghavendra swany from my childhood.Our family lineage is attaced to Rayara mutt.I would like to narrate one of the miracles happend to me and my wife.Met my wife for the first time at Shree Guru Raghavendra mutt in Jayanagar 5th block, Bangalore in the year 2011Met my Father in law at the same place for the first time & discussed my willingness to marry his daughter. After couple of days he accepted & he came to our house along with family.When we were about to start marriage disucions, a flower from the lord Ganesh photo which was hung on the wall, fell on the ground right in front of us. It was one of the wonderful experiences.we took it as lords acceptance to our marriageAfter a month, i went with my family to their house(Harihar) to finalize the marriage dates.During our visit, we visited Raghavendra temple. When both the families were sitting in from of Rayara vrundavana,it happened again!! A flower from the Rayara vrindavana fell down showing that we had his acceptance.It was on May 19th 2011 (THURSDAY), i got marrried.
We were trying for a baby, during this process we had to visit so many hospitals, undergo treatment and so on. Parallely we also started various sevas to many dietes.We also performed Seva to rayaru several times. At last, our long wait of 5 years was over, Our rayaru blessed us with a beautiful Girl baby on which is again on ThursdayThe hospital in which our baby was born is located exactly in front of the same Rayara mutt.Very recently we named her as “AGAMYA”.
I searched in one of the old scriptures and selected this name.But on the Naming ceremony day, i realized that this name is also a part of rayara Ashtottara.“Aagamya mahima loke Raghavendro maha yasha ha”.To summarize in short: He is there everyehere, just we need to have the heart to feel, eyes to see and mind to belive in him.“OM Shree raghavendraya namaha”. Thank you very much for giving information. I lost my job, when I newly married it was a very tough time for me and my wife. As I read you posted about pooja for Rayaru, and followed the same procedure done Seva of 11 Thursdays and got job by grace of Rayaru (but Rayaru didn’t come in my dream) and also we both visited Mantralaya. Now after One and Half year finished (In the One and Half year again we visited to Mantralaya with my parent, My parent are very devoted to Rayaru), now my job is in trouble, so I had done 3 continues days seva of Rayaru very strictly following the procedure to get job in other good company & salary in my dream companies. Something I was expecting someone will call for an interview, no one called me still yet now, so I little bit disappointed. I thought something went wrong while doing seva.
Now again I am doing seva for 7 Thursdays. I finished 5 Thursdays. I am not getting any positive till now Why Rayaru is not blessing Is anything wrong from my side. I don’t know what to do. I am finishing my three days vrata Pooja today. I am chanting poojyaya raghavendrayaaya sloka for pradakshinam. The book I have, have 16 lines in it.Is the beginning two lines only chanted or full sloka I could chant? I am doing ten pradakshinam and one namaskara, thus 11 namaskara.So that I complete 108 pradakshinam. Anyway the space for pradakshinam is not so big.May swami bless all.

I will go from Delhi. Can you or anyone else please explain that what does 3 days mean? Suppose I reach Mantralaya on Sunday night and start seva from Monday morning then will 3 day seva end on Wednesday night or Thursday morning? Secondly, do I need to carry pooja things from Delhi or can I buy every thing at Mantralayam? Do I have to wear a gents dhoti or cotton pants is ok?
